A Valley at the way from Mysore to Wayanad |
This is a trip to remember forever. Probably one of the most green and preserved natural beauty of India called itself Kerala. And the citrus of Kerala is Wayanad. Mother earth has unfolded her green picturesque flora and fauna when earth was born. Some parts are preserved by us, some are not. Thankfully Wayanad is still mostly green. Travelling here is like listening to the most romantic song with your loved one standing hand in hand.
Walking in the rain
We spent 4 days and 3 nights in August ending on 2011 to god’s own country Wayanad. It’s so mesmerizing and revitalizing for me for certain reasons.
- It is a rainy season. The greenery is in complete elegance. Weather alludes an enchanting freshness
- Throughout the trip we enjoy the breeze and drizzle. Feels like the rain drops are humming love song in your ears. You might get a little drenched. Carrying an umbrella is recommended as the rain pours heavily at times.
- Fragrance of the wet soil crafts loveliest poetry
- The continuous rain drop sneaks reminisces of childhood, when we smelt the rain, get drenched with friends and burst out sneezing smilingly
- The nature shapes the behavior of the people live in the lap of greenery. The hospitality is warm and welcoming. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. People proved that every time.

Way from the Tea Garden |
Reach Wayanad
We woke up in the early morning. Took bath and started driving down from Bangalore around 4.30 AM. It’s a smooth and free of hustle in the morning. Our first stop was Kamat at Mysore for breakfast around 8.30. From Mysore, the condition of road till Wayanad is not very pleasant. The view is maneuvering as you progress inside the jungle of Mudumalay. Luck has to call if you see a deer or a slightest scene of a tiger. People often see herd of elephants. We saw a number of monkeys. The rain was frequently increasing, so we drove little slower inside Wayanad. We reached Kalpetta at around 12 o’ clock.
See route for reaching Wayanad.
Enjoy
- Spa treatment is one of the attractions across Kerala. The herbal oil massages are truly rejuvenating. Dip in full body Sirodhara (a type of herbal oil massage) and forget about the external world. This ignites your soul and leaves a relaxation with absolute rebirth of spirit.
- Enjoy the tea in Wayanad. The tea harvesting is a scene to behold.
- Stay in a tree house or private cottages.
- Awaken the artist inside. Valleys reveal manifestation of scenic beauty that is lucrative for all nature photographers.
